This morning, TBI (traumatic brain injury) is very much at the forefront of my mind. Listen to this quote about America and the way our culture “tolerates” so much:
One of the insane features of American culture is that we tolerate the voilence caused by vehicular accidents, falls, blood sports, and assaults, while at the same time we advocate peace in the world…Doing what we know we must to halt the epidemic of traumatic brain injury should begin with redirecting our culture away from violence and selfishness and toward civility and empathy (pp.203,204 –Confronting Traumatic Brain Injury by William Winslade).
