I’m often reading articles or books or something about brain injury… Yesterday, I read the article in the Parade magazine by Lee Woodruff, Bob Woodruff’s wife. In it, she wrote about a conversation she had with Susan H Connors, president and CEO of Brain Injury Association of America. This comment she made has stuck with me; it’s so true: “Brain injury is often invisible since changes are on the inside.” Wow, right on!

And (if you can hang with my line of thinking) this truth sticks with me as well…whether we suffer from the deficits of TBI or not, we, as God’s children, can still be used by Him as the “light of the world.”

Remember: God uses broken vessels for His glory. You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light so shine before men that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven (Matthew 5:14-16, NIV).
