Learning from History

Recently, while speaking at SMU, Rosa Blum, a Holocaust survivor, “shared her experience from dark days of WWII.” (Ben Tinsley; Texas Jewish Post; April 30, 2015) She and her wealthy family were taken by the Nazis from their home in Romania to Auschwitz in Poland.

As the Q&A time was in progress there at SMU’s Elizabeth Perkins Prothro Great Hall, students were asking various questions. In the midst of it, Rosa simply said, “I never went back (to claim anything). I could never face that emptiness…”

Persevere.
