HAPPY NEW YEAR to you!!
So, as you live out the last week of 2009 and get ready to enter 2010, here’s one more thought I have for you about putting on the whole armor of God … this one has to do with the Sword of the Spirit.
First, let’s read together, one more time, Ephesians 6:10-18 – Finally, be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power. Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take up the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.
It seems that the faith of many so-called Christians in the world today has grown stale. So, I simply ask you: What has dulled the blade of your Sword?

As we live out this last week before Christmas, here’s something to ponder: What has scuffed the inside of your shield of faith?
I say “the inside” because this is the part that’s facing us as we hold up our shield of faith against the evil one.
Different things have affected us and done a number on us throughout our lives. I strongly urge each one of us to take it to the Lord, throw it on Him - Cast all your anxieties/cares on the Lord for He cares for you  (1 Peter 5:7).
Take a Calgon Moment in this Truth again: Finally, be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints (Eph 6:10-18, NIV).
MERRY CHRISTMAS and God’s blessings to you!

Greetings to you and MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!
Â
I know we’ve read these words several times already, but please read them again with me so we’re on the same page: Finally, be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power. Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. The question on my mind has to do with our shoes. Ya know how something will get stuck to our shoe and we won’t notice it…well, that’s kind of like this week’s question.
Since we’re focusing on …with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace (v.15), here’s this week’s question: Â
What “goo” is sticking to the bottom of your shoe?

Well, as most of you are well aware, the Christmas Season is in full-swing! Cars fill the parking lots of stores during the weekend, as shoppers run in to get that “perfect” gift at the “perfect” price!
But as all of this happens, don’t forget the Christ of Christmas…He wants us to remember Him (Nehemiah 4:14) every step of the way!
Read these words again: Finally, be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints (Eph 6:10-18, NIV).
Hmm…the belt of truth - it surrounds the waist; holds everything together; let’s us run without our weapons getting out of place and tripping us up; and so much more.
So here’s the question for this week: What chokes your waist?
