Here’s a devotional written by Charles Stanley about the power of prayer…see what the Lord lays on you through this…Â
James 5:16-18 tells us that Elijah was a righteous man whose effective prayer accomplished much. He was passionate and persistent because he knew God intimately and believed that He would answer. Past answers to prayer and time spent in His presence had strengthened the prophet’s absolute trust in the Lord.
When Elijah first began to pray on the mountain, there was no apparent answer, and yet he continued to seek the Lord. God is always working around us whether we perceive it or not. Eyes of faith can see His presence and involvement even when there’s no tangible evidence.
God did not design prayer as simply an avenue for requests; spending time in conversation with our heavenly Father is meant to help us know and love Him. Then, as we grow in passion for the Lord, spending time with Him will be a delight, and life turns into an adventure of faith.Â

I am amazed at the people I watch - believers and non-believers - who deceive and manipulate others, at any cost, on a regular basis, trying to get them to do what they want them to do…leaders and followers alike!
Take a Calgon Moment in these Scriptures and let them soak-in:
Do not be deceived; God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows (Gal 6:7; NIV).
Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter. Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes and clever in their own sight (Is 5:20,21; NIV).

As you lean-in to life and go out of your way to help others and encourage them along their journey, I compassionately urge you not to lose heart ….. I speak these words to you from the 2nd chapter of Ruth, verse 12: May the Lord repay you for what you have done. May you be richly rewarded by the Lord, the God of Israel, under whose wings you take refuge.
God’s love to you!

Any athletes in the house?
Ahhh, good on ya!…I bow in your general!Â
Joggers? Runners?
How about spiritual joggers? Spiritual runners?
Have you ever been doing something and somebody, or something, threw you off-track or off-base? If so - or maybe it’s happening right now in this stage of your life … dive in to these verses with me: You were running a good race. Who cut in on you and kept you from obeying the Truth? (Gal. 5:7, NIV)Â
People and things of the evil one are always trying to do this to God’s kids… If/When this happens to you, run away from them, get away from it, go the other direction and… stand firm then and don’t let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke/harness of slavery (Gal. 5:1).
Run to God; He’ll deliver you!!

It seems that more and more people will say “what you want to hear,” whether it’s true or not, whether they’re being honest or not. Mind-games are often being played!
Sometimes it feels like life is trying to squeeze us like orange juice. Listen to this Truth in Romans 12: Don’t let the world around you squeeze you into its own mold, but let God remold your minds from within, so that you may prove in practice that the plan of God for you is good, meets all his demands, and moves towards the goal of true maturity (Rom 12:2, JB Philipps).
