In our world today, there is a lot of name-calling, finger-pointing, and blaming…the tolerance of sin has become a fad of this age.
Soak in this Truth that Isaiah wrote so long ago that is still so true today: If you do away with the yoke of oppression, with the pointing finger and malicious talk, and if you spend yourselves in behalf of the hungry and satisfy the needs of the oppressed, then your light will rise in the darkness, and your night will become like the noonday. The Lord will guide you always; He will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail (Isaiah 58:9-11, NIV).

When things get tough in life, and it’s hard for you to see anything clearly and make any sense of it, think on these words…take a “Calgon Moment” in this definite assurance:
The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge; my shield and the horn of my salvation. He is my stronghold, my refuge and my savior — from violent men you save me. I call to the Lord, who is worthy of praise, and I am saved from my enemies (2 Sam 22:2-4, NIV).

I’m often reading articles or books or something about brain injury… Yesterday, I read the article in the Parade magazine by Lee Woodruff, Bob Woodruff’s wife. In it, she wrote about a conversation she had with Susan H Connors, president and CEO of Brain Injury Association of America. This comment she made has stuck with me; it’s so true: “Brain injury is often invisible since changes are on the inside.” Wow, right on!
And (if you can hang with my line of thinking)Â this truth sticks with me as well…whether we suffer from the deficits of TBI or not, we, as God’s children, can still be used by Him as the “light of the world.”
Remember: God uses broken vessels for His glory. You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light so shine before men that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven (Matthew 5:14-16, NIV).

Sometimes in life, things overcome us and throw us off track. I’m reminded of something Corrie ten Boom wrote about in her book, Prayers and Promises for Every Day - God has given us a promise in His Word that his angels will guard and resuce us.
In the NIV, Pslam 34:7 reads, The Angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear Him, and He delivers them.Â
His Angels are around you!
